In case you missed it: the key interest rate has dropped again 📉
The Bank of Canada has lowered its policy rate from 2.5% to 2.25%, marking another step to support a slowing economy. According to Governor Tiff Macklem, this is likely the last rate cut for a while, as inflation remains close to the 2% target.
This move brings the rate to its lowest level since 2022, offering some relief to borrowers and signaling that the central bank believes monetary policy has largely done its job.
